Description

The Bushlore Survival Knife from Condor Tool and Knife traces its proud history back to 1787, the year Gerb Weyesburg Company was founded in Solingen, Germany. The quality of the swords, military knives, agricultural tools and household cutlery they manufactured made Solingen the cutlery capital of the world. In 1964, the company formed Imasca with a new plant in Santa Ana, El Salvador and filled it with state of the art German equipment. Some of the original local employees who were sent to Solingen for extensive training forty years ago are still working in the factory today, turning out the finest quality machetes, shovels and other hand tools. In 2004, Imasca developed a first quality line of tools and knives for the North American and European outdoor markets and Condor Tool and Knife was born. Blasted satin finish is achieved by sand or bead blasting the exposed metal portion of the blade. Micarta handle scales are extremely durable and weather resistant. Handle scales are held securely by two brass rivets. Handle has piped lanyard hole. Includes leather sheath.

I bought this on sale for $42.00 which is a great deal. I am not sure why the price fluctuate so much in Amazon.I owned it for about a year now and I love it. I brought it with me camping and hiking several times and it is very handy for food preparation and minor bushcraft work as needed. The spine is almost 3mm thick which makes it a strong knife.I even used it as a can opener one time (not recommended), but I touched up the blade afterward. The overall design of the knife is excellent. It is very comfortable and secure in the hand. Even it doesn't have a finger guard, your hand will not slip to the blade due to the design of the handle. The micarta handle material is also grippy. The size is just right that it is useful for most knife task and light enough to carry for a long time without weighting you down. Any task too big for this knife should be handled by an axe, hatcher, or machete which will be in a different category of tools. Another factor I like the knife is that it is a straight knife which makes it easy for cutting on a table. Those kukari or handle banded design knives just cannot cut all the way down on a table. The sheath is made of thick leather with good craftmanship. The overall look of the knife and sheath is nice that even not a knife person can tell it is not a cheap knife.
