I bought one set of these socket sets. I like that set so much that I now own six complete sets: the 6 pt and 12 pt in 1/2", 3/8" and 1/4". I like the wrenches much better than my vintage Craftsman tools. The cases are nice too. I took the lids off of the cases and have them stored in 44" US General tool cabinets. It keeps them organized. They are easy to find, and I don't have to purchase socket organizers this way. Anyway, these are high quality wrenches and I am looking at more Gearwrench tools to add to my collection. This socket set weighs a ton and feels great in your hands. Solid connections on fasteners, smooth ratcheting action. It should last a lifetime, or until I accidentally drop it overboard, whichever comes first. Feel way better than my craftsman set and rivals my smaller Snap On socket wrench.First off, I'm a DIY'er that does a lot of dinking around in the garage. For the price and quality these are unmatched. They feel great in hand, have a nice case that has a removeable lid so while in the tool box you have easy access. Love the way the box is set up, very easy to find what your looking for and easy to pick up the sockets. Also on the case if you leave the top on, the latches are made out of a plastic (just like the case) but they seam to be durable. So you don't have to worry about the case opening durring transit. Only real downsides that people already hammer on is the lack of carrying handle. But that really doesn't bother me. I don't plan on carrying them all over the place or to any significant place that a handle would make that big of a difference. I do like how the ratchet system actually says "on" and "off". Makes it confusion/idiot proof. I would like to see a quick release just so your sockets don't get stuck in a tight place and you end up trying to fish the socket out. This is the ONLY reason why I gave it four stars. Gearwrench has replaced a lot of my tools. I would reccomend there tools. I do like them better then craftsmans, and comparible to my snap ons BESIDES THE QUICK RELEASE.The tools themselves are really pretty nice. Only complaint I have is that the case is worthless. The sockets just fall out of their tray holes and pile up at the bottom. The latches are pretty cheap too, they pop out of the case easily. I was a bit surprised because the Gearwrench impact case I have is pretty nice, at least as far as these blow mold cases go. My set was made in Taiwan. The numbers are very nicely etched. No flaws in the chrome and the ratchets are quite solid.I bought this set because I needed a high quality, heavy duty yet comfortable set of 1/2" drive sockets. And that's exactly what I got with this product. The entire set is highly polished with heavy chrome so it looks and feels great. Although I love this socket set, I do have two cons...the ratchet wrench does not have a quick release feature; in fact many ratchet wrenches in the Gearwrench line don't have quick release. With the 1/2 inch drive it's not a real big deal because the sockets are so heavy they are easily removed, but it would be more important for the smaller size drives. Almost every other manufacturer incorporates quick release, so I can't understand why Gearwrench doesn't on some of their sets. The other con is that the well made case does not have a handle. This set weighs 18 lbs, so why is there no handle? Makes carrying the tools more difficult from my tool room to the work site. The case is only 2 1/2 inches tall though, so it fits in tool drawers easily. Also the latches are very strong and when opened, stay opened. There is nothing flimsy about this product. As I said though, the tools are exceptional and I got the quality I was looking for. So much so, that I also purchased the 3/8 inch set.My craftsmen socket sets were stolen, and now I'm glad they were. The Gear Wrench socket sets I bought to replace them are FAR better in just about every way. The action of the ratcheting pawls in the socket wrenches themselves is way smoother, and they have a greater number of teeth so that the wrenches don't have to be turned as far to engage the next pawl. The handles are round and feel good in the hand when torquing hard. Having a variety of wrenches--long, stubby, wheel drive--in the 1/4" and 3/8" drive kits (but not the 1/2") has proven to be very handy. And the sockets themselves are terrific, getting positive grip on nuts and bolt heads. I like these sets better than my dad's snap-on sets. They are great quality and well designed--and they are a great value too, especially with the lifetime warranty. This is a great little socket set for quick jobs. I carry it at work when going on a calls that don’t require me to take a tool cart.So far I like this set a lot. The only negative and it is. Kind of big it that it is hard to read the socket sizes. If they color it in or something it would make this a perfect small go to set for me.I ordered this set for working on airplanes, and I got it for $ 53. At time of writing it is listed at $112, so I'm happy with the price I paid. Even if the quality wasn't nice, 53 bucks for this much steel seems like a decent price. The quality does seem to be quite good though - the chrome appears to be even and isn't flaking, even inside the sockets, and the sockets have a sort of curved hex shape which helps them grip the fastener without rounding it off.The ratchet that came with this set also seemed quite good, but I sold it to a friend and replaced it with a Snap on ratchet. Honestly though, the ratchet that came with this set seemed comparable to the Snap on in terms of smoothness of operation, and it actually had more teeth and a slightly longer handle than the Snap on, for significantly less money. If you're not a professional, this ratchet will probably be all you'll ever need in a 3/8 non-flex head style. If you are using it to make a living, it will probably serve you well while you get started, at least. This set covers a pretty big range of fastener sizes, so if you have this and a 1/4 inch drive socket set, you'll probably have most of what you will ever need covered.Additions you could make to your 3/8 collection after buying this set could be an adapter to allow you to use 1/4 inch drive sockets, a breaker bar, and maybe a flex head ratchet for tricky places. This set is definitely a good start, though.Another small tip I have is that the case that this ratchet set comes in has the sizes of the sockets printed on it in raised numbers, but they're the same color black as the rest of the case, so they can be tough to read at a glance in low light. I used a white paint marker and painted them so they'd be easier to read, you can see how it looks now in my photo. The quality of this set is good, the rachet is low profile and smooth the sockets have no issue with a nice mirror chrome finish and the case is sturdy, however i removed them from the case and have them on socket rails to take up less space in my tool box however the only problem is i ordered the 6 point version and they are all 6 point except the 3/4" shallow socket is a 12 point which im sure someone accidentally mix it up so not a big deal, thats the only reason i did not give 5 starGran juego de dados que no puede faltar en ningún taller o automóvil, los dados son en pulgadas pero como traen medidas de 16 en 16 pueden acoplarse a algunas milimétricas, la matraca está muy buena ya que posee muchos dientes, se siente la diferencia a las marcas que venden en la ferretería de la esquinaEs de buena calidad pero creo que podría mejorar aun mas en el acabado.
